Infographics

I have gathered a lot of quantitative data surrounding toilet habits and figures related to the 'toilet crisis'.
In this post I am going to gather a wide range of info graphic styles so I have something to work from and to find out what kind of 'stlye' would best suit the information I am communicating.

These are various screenshots all taken from different infographics that have been featured on this website: http://www.bestinfographics.co.uk/

Variety

I found this lovely book online which isa compilation of all the weird and wonderful toilets of the world, these are some of the more different and crazy toilets from the book!

This is a contraption from Canada called L'Urinette allowing women to wee standing up, much more practical!

This is a two storey outhouse in New York with 3 toilets on both floors, all toilets are connected to a pit under the house

These toilets are in a fancy restaurant in Brazil, they consist of ice cubes on top of stones, the ice cubes are there to stop the smell of urine coming from the sink which apparently doesn't work very well!

These futuristic egg like toilets are in London, giving the user a personal and ambient toilet experience

This is also in London, a toilet that comes out of the ground on weekends to reduce the amount of street weeing caused from people drinking in the surrounding pubs

This is an original urinal made my Thomas Crapper, it features a small bee in the middle to give gents something to aim at,
the latin for bee is Apis, which is where we get the slang 'Piss'

This is a handy invention for any explorer, it is a foldable toilet which gives the user a comfortable experience wherever they are. You just need to dig a small hole under the box and on you go!

Apart from the UK 'squat' toilets are very popular throughout the world!
Here in Japan there is a nice selection of slippers you can use whilst you're going about your business

These are just quite fun

Every option you could ever ask for on this digital toilet in Japan

These three are the craziest toilets I've ever heard of. In a Japanese restaurant
This urinal swings, plays music and takes pictures of you when you move up close to it

This guy laughs and moans whilst your weeing in one of his urinal weights

This character is in a female cubicle hidden behind a wall, a few moments after the woman has sat down the lights turn off, the wall opens up and this chap moves towards her offering some toilet roll, how thoughtful.

Toilet Paper

Before toilet roll people used whatever they could get their hands on: leaves, sticks, rope, water etc. Inuits use handfuls of snow, Romans used a sponge on a stick and others just used their left hands.

"Each time we reach for the “cotton-savior”, an average tear of 5.9 sheets is ripped from the roll.  44% of people wipe from front to back, and 60% look at the paper having just wiped, 42% fold, 33% crumple, 8% do both fold and crumple, 6% wrap it around their hands and at least 50% of people have at one time or another wiped with leaves, or something foreig n to toilet paper (8% hands, 1% money)."
